I asked God if He would love me if I was skinny, fat, or had a thigh gap.
He said yes.
I asked God if He would love me if I spoke perfectly or a cuss word occasionally snuck out.
He said yes.
I asked God if He would love me if I was emotional and asked Him for help all the time.
He said heck yes.
I asked God if He would love me if I was single, married, divorced, or widowed.
He said yes.
I asked God if He would love me if my kids were straight A students, had a disability, or struggled academically.
He said yes.
I asked God if He would love me if I won the lottery or received welfare.
He said yes.
I asked God if He would love me if I screamed His name wondering if he took a vacation during the hard times.
He said yes.
I asked God if He would love me if I set the table like Martha Stewart or if I had a hard time getting through the holidays.
He said yes.
I asked God if he would love me if I was in good physical shape or a lazy couch potato.
He said yes.
I asked God if he would love me if I was the CEO of a Fortune-500 company or I was flipping burgers at a fast food chain.
He said yes.
I asked God if he would love me if I was surrounded by a million friends on my Friday nights or if I spent it alone with my girls watching cartoons in bed.
He said yes.
I asked God if He would love me for all the mistakes I’ve made in the past.
Again, He said yes.
This holiday season, I’m thankful for a God who’s love for me will always be yes.
Cheers!
